The WhatsApp Catalog feature allows businesses to showcase their products or services directly within WhatsApp, facilitating easier browsing and purchases. This guide walks you through the steps to set up and configure your WhatsApp Catalog.
Steps to Activate WhatsApp Catalogue
1. Set Up Your Catalogue in Facebook Commerce Manager
a. Access Commerce Manager
- Log in to your Facebook Business Manager account
- From the menu, go to Data Sources and select Catalogues.
- Click on “+ Add” to proceed.
- Click on "+ Create a new Catalogue".
- Choose the type of products you offer (e.g., Online products, Travel, etc.).
- Select the appropriate Business portfolio.
- Add a unique name for the catalogue.
b. Add Products to Your Catalog
- Proceed to the next step to add products to your catalogue, click on "+ Next".
2. Connect to Tracking (Optional)
To effectively monitor user interactions with your products, connect your catalogue to a tracking system.
- Choose between Meta Pixel or SDK as your tracking tool.
- Link it to your catalogue to start gathering valuable data on user interactions.
Importance of Tracking: Tracking helps in understanding customer behavior, optimizing product listings, and improving marketing strategies.
3. Set Permissions
Define who has access to your catalogue and what they can do.
- Assign people or partners with full control to manage all aspects of the catalogue. You can control their level of access, whether it be full control, editing capabilities, or view-only rights.
Note: Admins have complete authority over the catalogue. They can perform all actions, including managing product details and user roles. Make sure to assign roles based on the level of control each person needs.
4. Upload Products
Populate your catalogue with your products.
a. Data Feed Upload
- Use a data feed file (CSV, XML) to bulk upload products. This is efficient for large inventories.
Note: Ensure your data feed file is formatted correctly and contains all necessary product information.
b. Manual Upload
- Manually add products one by one, including details like name, description, price, and images.
Note: This method is ideal for small inventories or when adding a few products.
5. Link Catalogue to Your WhatsApp Business Account
a. Connect Your Catalog
- In WhatsApp Manager, go to Account Tools and select Catalogue.
- Click on "Choose a Catalogue" and select the catalogue you created from the list.
- Click "Connect Catalogue" to link your newly created catalogue to your WhatsApp Business Account.
b. Select your Business phone number.
c. Configure Settings
- Show Catalogue Icon: Toggle on to add a catalogue icon in chat and business profile.
- Show "Add to Basket" Button: Toggle on to allow customers to add items to a basket while shopping.
